Kenya 2005

Date: July 14-31, 2005
Location: Malindi, Kenya

The Mission Trip to Kenya was amazing! God did so many great things! Eugene taught multiple classes daily, on Bible Doctrines, at the seminary in Malindi. He also preached at several churches.

I guess two of the best parts for me were these 2 visitations:

A woman in the church had asked me to visit with her 2 sons who had not accepted Christ. When we arrived at her house only one son would sit and listen, the other went inside the hut and hid. The boy that was sitting with us broke down in tears and accepted Christ. As we were saying goodbye and starting to leave the other son came out of the hut with tears streaming down his face. He had prayed the prayer while hiding in his hut. Praise God that you can’t hide from the Holy Spirit.

Another great thing happened one day while my interpreter and I had been walking and witnessing for several hours. We probably walked 7-10 Miles until we arrived at the Indian Ocean about 2 p.m. We saw some fishermen at the shore and decided to witness to them. These fishermen were Muslim and as I preached the Gospel, a few of them started getting upset but we were not about to quit. One man had the look of conviction written all over his face, so we blocked out the hecklers and focused on this one man. I got to the end and asked the man if he would like to accept Christ as his Lord and Savior. He broke down in tears and accepted Christ. His friends were very upset because one of their own had converted to Christianity some were yelling at us in Swahili and I had no idea what they were saying. My interpreter and I ran off to a near by home of a man from the church. When we slowed down, one of the men who had been heckling us came running up and said, “I need Christ! I need forgiveness! I want Jesus!” We stopped and led him to the Lord. He walked a long way back toward the Church with us, asking us questions about Christ wanting to know more and more about his new glorious Savior. Praise God for He deserves all the Glory!

Many other similar things happened throughout our stay in Kenya . The Holy Spirit prepared the way as many more victories were won and souls saved. I am excited to see where God will send us on our next mission trip.
